On this blog, we talk about credit cards a decent amount. However, what if credit cards are not for you?
There is no wrong or right way to handle your money. Some people are great with credit cards yet horrible with cash. Others are great with cash but will go into debt if they touch a credit card.
These are all very bad things to happen, so it is always best to face the realization that credit cards may not be for you.
Even though I use credit cards almost entirely, most of my friends know that they are not good with credit cards and just skip it entirely. This is a great way to handle your situation if cash is better for you.
Get rid of your credit cards.
If you are bad with credit cards, then you may want to think about getting rid of them completely. If you are worried about your credit score, there are other ways to improve your credit score. Anyways, if you are not good with credit cards, you may actually be doing more harm than good anyways.
Put your credit cards out of sight.
If you do not want to get rid of your credit cards, then you may want to leave them somewhere so that you don?t use them. This may mean tucking them away in a drawer where you won?t forget about them, or possibly even freezing them in a tray of water and putting it in your freezer.
Rely on cash.
All of this means that you need to start relying on cash more if you do not do well with credit cards. You may want to look into creating a cash budget, trying out the cash envelope system, and more. There are many ways to make cash work out well for you and your family.
Look into obtaining a better debit card.
If you do not want to entirely give up some of the good things about having a credit card, then you may want to look into finding a better debt card. There are some banks out there that have somewhat decent benefits, such as small rewards systems and more.
Are credit cards for you? Or is cash better?
