It?s the beginning of August and most of us are realizing that summer is almost over. School starts at the end of the month, followed by Autumn and the falling leaves, October and Halloween and then of course, the most expensive time of the year, the holidays.
So how can you go on vacation, yet not affect your credit in any way?
Try Traveler?s checks. Long before ATM?s and the popularity of credit cards, people used traveler?s checks when they traveled. They are still accepted at businesses and they are a very viable option. Your credit will not be affected because if you use cash to purchase them, it is the same as cash.
Use a bank debit card or a prepaid debit card. It will take the cash directly from your checking account or in the case of a prepaid card, you?ve already paid for it upfront. No billings, no debts.
Vacation on the cheap. Recently on an Oprah show, a family camped out in their own backyard and claimed to have had a great time. Isn?t spending time together the point? Rather than spending money together?
Summer will be over before you know it. Enjoy it now.
