Pay Off Your Credit Cards, But?.

Don?t let them get cancelled.

To help your credit rating and increase your credit score, it will help to pay off your credit cards. Carrying a zero balance on a card that has a relatively high credit limit will always help you to increase your credit score because of the debt to available credit ratio.

But don?t cancel the card because that will hurt you.

But another consideration is that lately credit card companies have been canceling cards themselves. If you pay off your credit card and the credit card company cancels your card then your credit score will go down because you will no longer have that available credit.

The number one way to achieve a better score is to pay your bills on time. You do not need to ?use? credit in order to have a higher score, but you do need to ?have? credit.

Don’t let them cancel your credit card, either.
