What is ChexSystems?
Basically ChexSystems is a consumer credit reporting agency similar to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion except that it does not report on how you handle your credit but rather on how you handle deposit accounts at banking institutions.
A ChexSystems report on a consumer will contain information such as check overdrafts, unsatisfied balances, depositing fraudulent checks or any other suspicious handling of a deposit account for the past five years.
A major difference between the reports of the main credit reporting agencies and a ChexSystems report is that the main credit reporting agencies report both the positive and the negative, good credit along with bad credit.
ChexSystems only reports the negative.
