It has been estimated that as many as 70% or even more of all credit reports contain errors.
And it seems that it is almost inevitable that there will be mistakes on your report that you can dispute and get removed.
The fact is that the credit reporting agencies receive millions of pieces of information daily. Almost every adult person living in the United States has some type of credit that is being reported and numbers get transposed, people have similar or even the same names, there are clerical errors, loan information can get reported on the wrong account.
With the plethora of credit information changing hands every day, you can expect that there will be mistakes. Just make sure that you aren’t paying for them.
Check your credit report regularly and dispute any errors or erroneous information.
