The House of Representatives recently passed a bill that would have moved up the implementation date for the CARD act from February 22, 2010 to December 1, 2009. However, the Senate blocked a similar bill, S. 1833.
And so it goes.
The implementation of the CARD act will still take place on February, 22, 2010 but in the mean time, the credit card companies are not willing to easily give up the easy profits of the past and you can expect more and more dirty dealing, like raising the rates on existing balances, changing due dates in order to collect more late fees double cycle billing and more.
